摘要:Antiferromagnets (AFMs) have the potential to push spintronic devices from the static or gigahertz frequency range to the terahertz (THz) range for the sake of the high-speed processing. The insensitivity of AFMs to magnetic fields also makes it hard to manipulate spin currents. Here we show the optical generation of ultrafast spin current in an AFM/heavy metal heterostructure at zero external magnetic field and at room temperature by detecting the THz emission. In addition, it is generally believed that the magnon generation efficiency is the same as the magnon annihilation efficiency in a ferromagnetic insulator by a charge current in a heavy metal/ferromagnetic insulator bilayer. However, we found that the magnon creation and annihilation efficiency are asymmetric, evidenced by an observation of the unidirectional spin Hall magnetoresistance effect.

简介:吴镝,教授。分别于1997年和2001年在复旦大学获学士和博士学位。研究生期间曾到香港科技大学和德国Max-Plank微结构物理研究所交流。博士毕业后分别在美国犹他大学和加州大学河滨分校物理系先后从事博士后和助理专家研究。2007年到南京大学工作,被聘为教授。主要从事自旋电子学研究,近年来主要研究铁磁和反铁磁绝缘体中自旋流的传输、调控和探测。2004年获美国犹他大学杰出博士后奖,2012年获国家自然基金优秀青年科学基金,2013年受聘为南京大学唐仲英特聘教授,2020年获国家自然基金杰出青年科学基金。
